Pierce Center Light the Way for Literacy Lighting Ceremony
The day’s events began at Pierce Center with a morning tree lighting that was attended by learners and tutors, as well as Milwaukee Achiever board members and staff. The tree was designed by Amy Petroelje, assistant center coordinator at Pierce. Hand-cut snowflakes printed with the name of each honoree were scattered among the tree branches. After a reading of the honoree names, guests enjoyed punch and treats – and many of them took donor envelopes along to pass along to their friends and family members.
