One important goal I would like to achieve in the next few years is to receive my RN diploma. There are many steps that I need to take to make this happen. One is to obtain my GED diploma. The next step would be to enroll in some kind of training program. Finally I would start actually training in the RN program. By following these steps I’m laying out a plan in which the top of the chart is my RN license.
I’m currently enrolled in Milwaukee Achiever’s GED learning lab. I have to receive my GED before even thinking about going to college. I’ve already taken four tests and hopefully will be done by the end of February. Passing the GED tests brings me one step closer to finishing my goal.
I plan to enroll in a short term program like Medical Assistance or Certified Nursing Assistant to get my head focused in the right direction. I feel by doing this, I will be used to going to college, and learning just a little bit about what lies ahead for four years in an RN program.
My final step would be to research several schools to find the one that fits my needs for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. I would like to receive the best training possible to make my dream come true. I want to be sure I choose the right school, with the right instructors.
Reaching my personal goal takes many steps. I have to get my GED, enroll in some training courses, and spend four years training for an RN license. It’s going to be a long, hard, stressful road, but with determination and hard work, I believe I can do it. The day I receive my RN license will be the happiest day of my life.
