In 1998-99, Milwaukee Achiever Literacy Services was invited to partner with Mount Mary College at Silver Spring Center in a pilot program called “College in the Community,” a course in computer education and business English that will grant learners who successfully complete all the units 11.5 college credits.

Milwaukee Achiever Literacy Services is an adult literacy program founded in 1983 by Alverno College, Cardinal Stritch University, and Mount Mary College, which are sponsored by the School Sisters of St. Francis, Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, and School Sisters of Notre Dame, respectively.
